Intern Spotlight

"My internship with Life After Justice this summer has truly been one of the most meaningful and transformative experiences of my legal journey thus far. One moment that will always stay with me was our conversation with Anna Vasquez. Her story was powerful — but what struck me the most was her joy, strength, and warmth despite everything she has endured.

Although I plan to begin my career as a prosecutor, this internship gave me a profound understanding of the responsibility that comes with that role. I've learned that the consequences of failing to be a good prosecutor are not abstract. They are real, and they are life-altering.

Life After Justice taught me that behind every file is a human being whose life may be forever changed by a single decision. That perspective will stay with me throughout my career."

Why This Internship Is Different

This is not a filing internship. Interns work directly on active wrongful conviction cases alongside staff attorneys — contributing to real filings that matter from day one.

You will hear the voices, see the tears, and carry a truth that most attorneys never confront: behind every file is a human being whose life may be forever changed by a single decision.
