Freedom Is Not Enough.
Healing Is Justice.

Release from prison does not erase the trauma of wrongful incarceration — and justice is not complete if the harm is allowed to happen again. Life After Justice works to ensure that freedom includes dignity, stability, and real opportunity to rebuild.

Why Your Support Matters
Justice Doesn't End at Release — and It Must Prevent What Comes Next.

Freedom without support is not justice. Your support helps ensure people are not left to rebuild alone — and helps hold systems accountable so fewer lives are harmed in the future.

Survivors of wrongful incarceration face lifelong barriers to healing, stability, and opportunity. By investing in healing, accountability, and prevention together, you help turn individual recovery into lasting change.

Life After Justice is led by people who have lived the harm and understand what comes after release. Co-founded by exonerees and civil rights attorney Jarrett Adams and exoneree and community activist Antione Day, LAJ bridges lived experience and legal strategy to restore lives and prevent future injustice.

Wrongful incarceration harms individuals, families, and entire communities. Life After Justice is building a survivor-centered ecosystem that connects legal advocacy, healing, research, and policy — ensuring recovery is supported and future harm is prevented.

"Surviving wasn't enough — and I wanted to make sure no one else was forgotten."

What Your Donation Funds
Your Support Powers Accountability, Systemic Change, and Healing.

Your donation fuels all three — because justice requires accountability, healing, and prevention working together.

Pillar 01

Holding Systems Accountable

Life After Justice uses data-driven strategic litigation to challenge the practices that lead to wrongful convictions and to secure accountability when systems fail. Our legal work does more than correct individual injustices — it exposes systemic breakdowns, drives policy change, and helps prevent future harm.

Pillar 02

Turning Experience Into Evidence

Life After Justice conducts survivor-led national research to document both the causes and lifelong impact of wrongful incarceration. Through initiatives like the National Amplification Campaign, the National Incentivized Informant Research Project, and Pleas for Freedom: The Alford Plea Project, we collect survivor-reported data and case-level evidence that reveal patterns of harm and systemic failure.

Pillar 03

Healing That Lasts Beyond Release

Life After Justice provides trauma-informed, survivor-designed mental health and wellness support for people harmed by wrongful incarceration and their loved ones. Through our Holistic Mental Health & Wellness Pilot Program, we are not only delivering critical care — we are building a scalable, evidence-based model for how this community should be supported nationwide.

Release from prison does not erase the trauma of wrongful incarceration. Life After Justice works to ensure that freedom includes dignity, stability, and real opportunity to rebuild.
